Measure 117

Title: Amends Constitution—Allows people in Oregon to vote for more than 1 candidate.

What does this mean to me?

In Oregon right now, you can vote only for the one person you want to win. This changes the law and allows you to vote for more than one person. This would let people tell us more about who they want to win.

Icon: thumbs up, meaning "for this"

People for this say:

Sometimes two good people are running, and a lot of people like both candidates. Now, we can only vote for one of them, but we want to vote for both. We want to tell people which one we like the best and which one we like second best. That way, we have more chances to vote for the people we like.

Icon: thumbs down, meaning "against this"

People against this say:

We should keep voting for just one person. Being the second choice isn’t really winning. Whoever gets the most votes should win.
