Measure 116
Title: Amends Constitution—Independent group decides how much to pay some state workers.
What does this mean to me?
This let’s a special group of people decide how much money important state workers, like the governor or judges, get paid. The group would not be politicians. They would be independent.
People for this say:
State workers should be paid fairly. If they are not paid enough, people won’t want to work for the state.
People against this say:
The Oregon legislature should decide on pay. If they make a bad choice, we can vote for new legislators.
