City where I live: Keizer
Skills: I have served in the Oregon Legislature since 2005 in both the House and Senate. I have owned a commercial construction business. I serve on a variety of legislative committees focused on transparency and public records, as well as the Judiciary committee.
3 things I will do if I win:
1. The Secretary of State manages the Corporations Division. I will ensure the office is working to help Oregon businesses grow and thrive so they can hire their neighbors and keep our economy on track.
2. The Secretary of State has the responsibility to Audit state and local government. As Secretary of State, my goal will be to use the audits to ensure our programs work, especially our critical human services, and use the results of audits to inform lawmakers and the Governor about what we need to do.
3. The Secretary of State manages our elections. Voters are likely going to approve Measure 107, a statewide campaign finance reform ballot measure. If I’m elected, my goal will be to help make recommendations so that we get hold campaign finance violators accountable.
